NAE4-HA Military Partnerships AwardThe 4-H Military Partnerships honor an individual or team each year with the NAE4-HA 4-H Military Partnerships Award. The 2015 recipient was Chesley Davis, County 4-H Agent, Dawson and Lumpkin Counties, Georgia. Chesley received the NAE4-HA Military Partnerships Award at the NAE4-HA Conference on October 28, 2015, for her support of military connected youth and their families in Georgia. Chesley’s passion and dedication to serving military youth and families had an impact in four counties in Georgia. In her previous position in Muscogee and Chattahoochee counties, where Ft. Benning is located, she worked in collaboration with the local and DoDEA schools and afterschool programs at Ft. Benning to address the needs of military youth and School Age Services programming. She organized a “Purple Up” Day in two elementary schools and recognized the military families in those schools. Chesley coordinated a 4-H comprehensive training session for youth center staff to maximize their understanding and implementation of 4-H programming. In her current position in Dawson and Lumpkin counties, she has continued her military work by developing partnerships with a remote Army installation as well as a military college in her area. Chesley has also served on state-wide committees in support of military youth and families. As one collaborator said, “Chesley Davis is a real gem. She has shown a level of dedication to our military students above and beyond the scope of her job." Congratulations Chesley!
